The arrival of two new Evercade cartridges has kept me busy, but I've also been dropping back onto some Mega Drive classics thanks to the fact that we're slowly but surely adding gameplay footage to our 'Best Games' guides, starting with the Mega Drive. I'm also still dipping in and out of Radiant Silvergun on Switch – it's one of my all-time favourite games, and being able to play it on the go is a real boon.

This weekend I’m going to spend a bit more time with Bitfans’ new horror game Donum for the Spectrum 128k. I’m a huge fan of first-person adventure games, and with the horror element, this looks like it ticks all the right boxes for me. Currently, I don’t have a 128k handy, so I’ll be playing it via an emulator. I’ll also be checking out the demo for Heartworm on Steam too, which is described as “a retro suburban gothic survival horror/adventure game.” I’ve seen gifs of it retweeted into my Twitter feed a lot lately, and it looks extremely evocative of some of my favourite PlayStation titles.

The Mega Drive Mini 2 is still front and centre in my living room and there are still a lot of gameplay videos to make on that front. Might be impossible to cover them all before the Astro City Mini V arrives as soon as next week but I will surely try.
On the subject of minis, I discovered I am terrible at playing Arkanoid and its sequels with the paddle controller on the Taito EGRET II Mini, so I’m putting the effort into improving that. That’s old age for you.
Elsewhere, it's just Dreamcast as usual. Still having a ton of fun playing Air Force Delta but I sense I will be back to GameCube promptly, because I have unfinished campaigns in both Battalion Wars and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
So, what are you playing this weekend? Let us know with a comment below!

Grand Theft Auto III for the original Xbox with the "Duke" controller and then some sips whilst watching Metal Gear Solid on the PSX, +MGS: VR Missions disc.
Still playing Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus!!! I've added some codes to the Dolphin version to allow for better draw distances on everything and a level-faster code that helps me level at a rate like multiplayer. Trying to get my husband into it, maybe when we both have a bit more time.
Anyways, I am 400-odd EXP away from level 20, and I finally feel I have some decent weapons and armor that make me feel like a bit of a bad-ass. I'll be in the Mines before long.
Man, PSO is soooooo good. I don't think I ever progressed past the Forest when I had it on the Dreamcast back in the day... it's nice to see some variety in the scenery!
I maaaaaay have to dig into Blue Burst eventually, but I am super happy with the Gamecube version via Dolphin right now.
Have found the Wii U Pro Controller pretty amazing for it so far.
I am not too sure I'm inclined to play much else at the moment
Been playing a ton of Evercade stuff. Trying to wrap up Tanglewood before I start the Alwa/Cathedral cart. Fortunately(?) something happened to my delivery and it didn’t come yesterday, so I have a little extra time. I’m sure I’ll get some Sensible Soccer in too.
Been playing my Genesis Mini 2 a bit too…still a long way to go in Rainbow Islands!
Oh, and my son recently discovered my SMB Game & Watch, so I’ve been playing that with him too. Him shouting out “AGAIN?!” every time we are told the Princess is in another castle is the best ha. We paused it when we got to 8-4 last night. He’s gonna love what happens next.
Just completed Castlevania Bloodlines on the Castlevania Collection on my Seitch yesterday, followed immediately by blasting through the original Ninja Turtles Arcade game with both of my kids on the Cowabunga Collection.
On my own I’m currently replaying Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare on my Series X.
Turn & burn!

It’s been Super Mario RPG this weekend for me. I played on my SNES Classic for a bit, then fired up the CRT and Super NES for the “authentic” experience. There is something about playing on a CRT that brings back the 90’s magic. It’s still a great game great anyway you play of course.
Maybe I’ll dabble in something else the rest of the weekend.
Started up Double Dragon NES for the 2nd time on NSO and am having a surprisingly good time. I abandoned it after getting to the 3rd Level but I plan to stick with it for a lot longer this time (hopefully even beating the game if I'm lucky), especially after finding that oh so beautiful beat-em-up cheese (JUMPING KICKS FOR DAAAAAAAYS).
I might also play a bit of Pokemon Puzzle League and Paper Mario 64 to wind down if I get the chance, though I've been taking things pretty easy with today being my brithday and all (happy 18th to me!).
Bit of Link To The Past, bit of Bubble Bobble on the NES and some Hotline Miami for me here.
I've been in a fighting game mood in the last few weeks. I've been playing Last Blade 2, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and Fist of the North Star mostly. I might squeeze in some King of Fighters '98 as well. The nice thing about these games is the sessions are pretty short, but satisfying at the same time.
Was on an NES kick but now I’ve got the Genesis hooked up again. Alisia Dragoon was the last game I had on
@JDCII That's the only way to go retro, CRT TV 14" + a giant portable Bluetooth BoomBox hooked up via auxiliary cord.
I see Faxanadu in that thumbnail!
The next 5 games in my queue:
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (360); Return to Monkey Island (Switch); Guardian War (3DO); Kid Icarus (NES); Lufia and the Fortress of doom (SNES)
