Are the games in english?
Nice. It will look good next to my Neo Geo Mini.
Can they just bring this over without making it a limited release or did they pissed off AtGames so much now that AtGames refuse to partner with them anymore? C'mon Sega you can do better than this, don't go the Nintendo route with this thing.
@xzacutor To my knowledge, Limited Run hasn't said anything about this, so I'm guessing it's the same unit with English packaging.
As noted in our review, "The unit can be configured so all of the menus are in English, but the ROMs themselves are all Japanese versions."
Awesome.
Just got a Turbografx 16 Mini and love it.
Definitely want one of these.
I have it imported from Japan for a few days now, I really hope it doesn't end up being sold everywhere, I'm sorry, because that would mean I paid shipping and taxes for nothing.
The minis usually geat launched everywhere day one, there was no reason to believe it would get out of Japan considering they didn't say so when it was announced.
Wait for discount, it didn't sell well in Asia.
@hakjie11 But Limited Run has only 3,500..... It will go gone?
@xzacutor Yes the games are in English.
Cancel that. They are not in english.
@stuntz0rZ If you are so eager to have one, then don't hesitate to pick up asap. But I am just saying it isn't as rare as you might think. You can import one easily from Play-Asia or buy one at Amazon Japan they have loads of stock.
Already have one thankfully. One of the nice things about this compared to the Neo Geo Mini is it comes with a HDMI cable and beyond that, uses a normal HDMI cable if you want to play the games on a TV. The Neo Geo Mini uses needs a micro HDMI cable I think which is annoying.
I've got the japanese one at home somewhere, so if it's just an english box with the same machine inside then I'll skip this one.
I am very fond of mine. don't worry too much about Japanese text in some games, it's easy to figure out what's going on.
Finding the console on eBay is easy, but the people on there are selling the controller for absurd prices. This is also the cheapest the system has been I'm pretty sure.
@xzacutor I was wondering this as well. Because it only says the packaging has been translated, my gut says no
Oh look, a whole bunch of games that SEGA didn't release in the AGES line and would have sold very well.
I picked one up just for Rad Mobile and Revenge of Death Adder. Neat little unit, shame about the lack of super-scaler games though - this was probably my last hope for a home version of OutRunners.
The console is also supposed to be released in France by Just For Games. I don't know if that means that could release it elsewhere in Europe but it should be easier to import than a US version.

I do want one but kinda hate dealing with Limited Run Games. I pre ordered Streets of Rage 4 on PS4 and that took forever to get here.
This is a HUGE no. First off, the same rehash of the same games Sega always falls back on. Two the fact they are selling through a "limited production" group, I have grown to hate those companies in the last year. 3 the price is a bit steep for the content and size. These of course are imo.
@Bearzilla823
In fairness, there's a bunch of games on here that haven't really had much in the way of home releases at all. Dark Edge, Cotton, Death Adder, Scramble Spirits, Rad Mobile, E-Swat, Arabian Fight.... Depends on how much of a Sega nut you are really.
I thought Sonic Boom would be a special Sonic arcade game exclusive to the console. Boy was I wrong! Bruh!
I imported one from Playasia a little while ago, and it's great. All the menus are available in English, and the Japanese ROMs don't really pose any significant barriers. The overall build quality is excellent, and a few of the games are hard to find elsewhere by legal means (looking at you, Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder).
If you do decide to grab one from Limited Run, I highly recommend picking up the six-button controller as well, since the built-in joystick and buttons are a bit cramped.
This might as well be my third purchase from Limited Run Games. First was Freedom Planet Physical for the Switch at Best Buy, and the second was the GBC Shantae Repro. which I'm still waiting for. Is that gonna come out on the same day as the Switch Version this summer? Now, all I need is the Style Kit, and a Talkin' Strong Bad from FanGamer, to make it look like he's playing arcade games. Some pic of that will definitely make Strong Bad go "Holy crap" with gaze-mazement on Twitter.
They did a review in last month Retrogamer, it stacked up pretty good
For that price (in fact, less) you can get the Japanese one on Amazon Japan with the controller and customs paid on top of that. No reason to pay more and having to deal with limited runs.
Are the games in English?
@jrt87 Can you play all of the games with it being in Japanese? It's not clear if the games are going to be localised or not.
I picked up the Japanese version and it's a great little system, I've seen conflicting reports about whether the games are in English on this version but it doesn't really matter from my experience. Games such as Cotton and Revenge of Death Adder are very good
At that price...... bargain????? No thank you, will stick with my Megadrive Mini TA!
Nice. Just preordered. Thanks!
I could possibly be interested but it just begs the question: WHY COULDN'T SEGA BRING SOME OF THESE TITLES TO THE SEGA AGES LINE THAT THEY CANCELED A SHORT TIME AGO???? I still don’t get the logic! 🤦♂️
@joey302 I think it's the other way around. They stopped Sega Ages because they wanted to do this (many arcade titles from Sega Ages are here now). But the emulation in this case isn't by M2, by the way.
@Moroboshi876 good point but doesn’t reduce my disappointment any further about them stopping the ages line. We all know how many classics they left behind. 😞
@joey302 You're right. They did deliver on the first batch, but they were supposed to bring us more modern games and then just seemed to forget about that.
@Moroboshi876 when Virtua Racing hit I had high hopes that we’d see newer games but nope! And IMO we didn’t need 2 Puyo puyo games as part of the line. 🙄
@SegaSonicFan Well i didn’t say I don’t like the games and I enjoy playing them as well. I purchased both of them. But My point was we didn’t need 2 Puyo entries in the Sega Ages line when there was so many other rare arcade games Sega could’ve chosen for the Ages line and plus we already had a Puyo game packaged with Tetris in 2017 and now more recently again with part 2.
They sold out too fast in the U.S. The controller was yanked out of my shopping cart. I see where everyone's stimulus check has went!
Limited Run is a TERRIBLE company. I am sad to hear they were picked. Limited Run cares nothing about customers, cares only about the almighty dollar.
