Original Story [Mon 30th May, 2022 11:30 BST]: Evercade – a family of gaming hardware which plays physical collections of retro software – turns two this year, and the company behind it is celebrating with a special "Anniversary Show" tomorrow.
The 20-minute broadcast is scheduled to take place on Evercade's YouTube channel and will see the announcement of some new collections for the system as well as a look back on its history – but it has also been confirmed that "big news" will be forthcoming, too.
The show airs at 5pm UK time, 6pm CET for Europe and 12pm Eastern/9am Pacific in the US.
The Evercade range launched in 2020 with the portable system, but a home console variant was added last year in the form of the Evercade VS.
Here's the PR:

I love both my Evercade and I have several cartridges. I hope they release a new handheld, because the current screen is not very good (the ratio and overall quality). I'm also hoping for a new update, because I still can't play the Renovation cartridge correctly.
Kudos to them for the "Game of the Month" feature. It's very nice having a free game every month.
Evercade has purchased the entirety of Nintendo and plans to rerelease every single Nintendo game ever created into one single super console.
@El_Murcielago me too. My handheld and VS get a lot of play time. I’d like to see the handheld get L2/R2 buttons more than a screen improvement (OLED is the best natch but we got to consider costs etc).
I’d like the ‘big news’ to be more about home computer licensing being sorted and games from those machines being released. But I’m expecting not to be greeted with that!
@Erigen that would be most amusing !
I have every Evercade cartridge and have a Founder's ed of the VS, but I still feel like a little momentum has been lost (partially of course out of their hands). The last carts have all been delayed, which is one thing, but there doesn't seem to be many new carts for the entire year so I hope there's a raft of updates on future carts.
Capcoms Alien Vs Predator confirmed for Evercade
I was excited for Evercade last year and kept waiting for something exciting like TurboGrafx games or an Irem collection, but each new cart has seemed pretty niche. (Yes, more niche than tg-16)
I feel like the content peaked early for the system, and my interest has wained. Hopefully that is changed today.
A friend of mine recommended I get one, as I'm a big fan of retro gaming. I still haven't, seeing as I've got an ever growing backlog on my Switch already and Nintendo's other legacy systems. I'll tune in to this video and see if I can be convinced to pick one up.

Other way for me, the Arcade carts are brilliant!
I was an early adopter but in all honesty my interest has gone , it’s perhaps a bit too niche for me .
@SpringDivorce me too hoping for more arcade carts
Love both my Evercade systems.
Look forward to hearing what big news they have in store for us.
Glad this has managed to succeed in it's own cultish way. So many of these ambitious side-platform consoles seem to go belly-up before they really accomplish much of anything.
Looking forward to this. The delays in new carts has allowed me to catch up a bit. Only 4 short of a full set at the moment. An upgraded handheld with better screen and WiFi would be great.
And Repton. Please!
Maybe they are getting neogeo compilations, that would be huge for their market.
I think we're going to see the handheld mk2 and the announcement of solo releases featuring modern retro aesthetic games, like Blazing Chrome and Steel Assault, at least that's what I'm hoping for.
