We're sad to report that Danish jazz pianist, programmer and computer game composer Johannes Bjerregaard has passed away following a battle with cancer. He was 52.
Bjerregaard was involved in music at a very early age, starting piano lessons at 6. He managed to combine his twin passions of music and video games, eventually joining the influential video game music and sound effects group Maniacs of Noise in the late '80s.
Between 1987 and 1995, Bjerregaard contributed to numerous video game soundtracks, with the most notable being his compositions for Hewson's Stormlord and System 3's Flimbo's Quest on the C64.
Our thoughts are with Bjerregaard's friends and family at this difficult time.
