All good things come to an end, and today, it has been announced that the story of Pokémon's Ash Ketchum – alongside his faithful Pikachu – is to come to an end (thanks, Nintendo Life).
Ash's story began back in April 1997, and he's starred in dozens of feature-length movies and shows since then – as well as video games.
However, that is now coming to a close; a new Pokémon anime series has been confirmed, and it will be focused on a fresh cast of characters.
Sarah Natochenny, the voice actor who has played Ash in English-language dubs of the Pokémon animated series since 2006 after taking over from Veronica Taylor, posted her own statement on Twitter following the news:
