Time Extension seeks to become the world's leading retro and classic gaming website, bringing you informative and entertaining content every day. In addition to breaking all the latest retro gaming news, we'll also be taking a look at how some of the industry's greatest games were made, as well as reviewing the latest classic gaming hardware, interviewing some of the most famous developers on the planet and offering up insightful guides that help you chart your way through the exciting history of video games.
Up until now, our business has relied on advertising revenue to operate. But in recent years, many of you have asked for an alternative way to support us, including a subscription fee which will allow you to view our content without any ads. As such, weβre proud to introduce a new, completely optional paid tier, which spans not just Time Extension but all Hookshot Media websites β which means you'll also be able to browse Nintendo Life, Push Square and Pure Xbox entirely ad-free, all for the price of a coffee.
We don't believe in segregating our audience, so we have no plans to paywall any of our content behind our supporter subscription. Instead, we'll be looking to add future perks in other ways, such as discounts at our code stores (currently only on Nintendo Life and Pure Xbox) or on any future merchandise offerings β we'd love to hear what other incentives you'd like to see included.
There is a complete Frequently Asked Questions section over on our supporter page where we've tried to answer everything you might wish to know. However, if you have any further questions or feedback, please ask in the comments below β and we'll update the FAQ, too.
Simply put, our supporter subscription is all about offering a realistic choice for those who don't wish to view adverts. Whether you choose to subscribe this way or continue reading the site for free with adverts, we thank you for your continued support in reading Time Extension.

No comments, but a number of you have subscribed already (thank you!). Forever lurking?
An option to sort article comments from newest to oldest or by most likes would be a nice premium feature. Or even reddit style for everyone.
i second the idea of threaded, sortable comments. π
i am strongly considering subscribing when i can afford it!
I'm in! I can't believe how much retro gaming has taken (re-taken) over my life. I'm just surprised that it came on so late in life (I'm 45).
@Hikingguy Iβll see what I can do re the timeline button, should be easy enough. Strange about the cookies though, the answer should be remembered for quite some time. Is your device automatically clearing cookies for our site?
@-wc- @DestructoDisk thanks, all of those features are on the way β not connected to the sub programme though π
@Hikingguy
FWIW i only have to answer the cookies question again after an certain update, or trying a different browser for the first time. π
@antdickens
this is my favorite ("only") place to post online. i actually do no social networking at all, and i read reddit but never post there. thus, im thinking of being a supporter, and the new comments section features will make a good thing even better!
thanks!
WC
@-wc- The cookies thing will be on your end. The 'eupubsonsent-v2' and 'OptanonConsent' cookies are both 1 year. It is likely your browser settings but could also be your router, network or VPN settings.
@themightyant
okay but i wasnt having a problem π
@-wc- I must be going mad and responded on the wrong thread. My bad.
