Hamster Corporation, the company behind Arcade Archives, has announced it will release Arika's Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on June 1st (thanks Gematsu & Nintendo Life!).
This follows the earlier rerelease of the first game in the arcade spin-off series Tetris The Grand Master last December.
Tetris The Absolute The Grandmaster 2 first entered Japanese arcades back in 2000 — two years after Tetris The Grand Master — and later got a revised PLUS version post-launch. Similar to the first game in the series, its rotation system was heavily inspired by Sega's 1988 Tetris arcade game, with some alterations and enhancements made to aspects like wall kicking.
Elsewhere, the game also saw the return of Master Mode for skilled Tetris players, with some changes made to the grading system to take into account speed and skill, in addition to points. As well as this, it also added a new Normal Mode to attract casual players, making it a slightly more welcoming experience than its predecessor.
You'll be able to purchase it next month on the Switch eShop or on the PlayStation store.
