It's fair to say that the Atari Jaguar wasn't the most successful console of its time. Released in that odd transitional phase between the 16 and 32-bit eras, it failed to find the kind of audience that would assure its longevity and ended up sinking the already-beleaguered Atari Corporation in the process.
Given the system's unique architecture and general lack of commercial success, it's perhaps unsurprisingly that nobody has repackaged Jaguar games digitally over the decades. That's about to change, however, thanks to Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, a forthcoming collection by Atari and emulation experts Digital Eclipse.
It was confirmed a while back that Jaguar games would be part of the collection, but we're now getting a little more info via a new announcement and trailer (thanks, Nintendo Life).
More than 100 different titles will be in the collection, covering most of Atari's history. The Jaguar games included are:
- Atari Karts
- Club Drive
- Cybermorph
- Evolution Dino Dudes
- Fight For Life
- Missile Command 3D
- Ruiner Pinball
- Tempest 2000
- Trevor McFur In The Crescent Galaxy
Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration launches on 11th November, and is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS4/PS5, Switch, Steam, Epic Games Store and the Atari VCS.
