The team which translated Sakura Wars 2 into English has announced a new project, and it's focused on the PlayStation adaptation of the popular anime franchise Super Dimension Fortress Macross.
@burntends2 has confirmed that Macross: Do You Remember Love? – a side-scrolling shooter based on the 1984 movie which launched in Japan on Saturn and PlayStation in 1997 and 1999, respectively – is their next project. Interestingly, former Nintendo Life staffer and all-round lovely bloke Jon Cartwright is involved and will be lending his considerable vocal talents to the crucial role of Roy Fokker.
Other roles for the English dub are currently open, with particular focus being given to female singers - hardly surprising, given that music is a vital part of the whole Macross story.
Macross, in case you didn't know, would form the foundation of the North American cartoon series Robotech, which took Macross and two other different Japanese shows – Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA – and fused them together to hit the required number of episodes for TV syndication in North America. Macross continues to receive new series in Japan, and Robotech has also had fresh movies (and games) since the '80s.
The film upon which the game is based was released in 1984 and was an adaptation of the original Macross series, boasting new animation.
