@DestructoDisk as I stated earlier, I DAGAF about scene drama,. As far as I'm concerned it's got nothing to do with me. It's the limited power of the current hardware which in turn is limiting the number of cores available as well as features like translations, save states etc.
It's so far behind what software emulation is capable of, it's a joke. Using FPGA hardware for gaming is in its infancy and it needs time. I prefer Burnout 2 where the emphasis was on racing still.

The irony is that FPGA devices are not better or worse at being setup than software emulation except they have horrible looking front ends/GUI.

@Scollurio Exactly! Especially if its a game you're playing for the first time. I go easy on players who are revisiting their old school faves but then you need the same hardware to truly replicate it anyway.

@deciderVT, its not so much all the squabbling, its the cores available on 1 platform and not another. Its the waiting for devs to create new or updates existing cores.
I dont see the point of buying a Mister when it cant do all of Mame titles as well as 6th gen consoles (GameCube, PS2, OG XBOX, Wii)
Wake me up when they're all ready. Until then, an old budget pc will happily run all those systems on your monitor/tv with very nice looking front ends with borders/scanline filters and accurate timing and make them near plug n play.

Its crap like this that put me off getting into FPGA. This is reminiscient of the emulation scene up to the the 2010s.
Until most platforms can be had on most devices regarding FPGA then I'm happy with my PC and retroarch.

I was excited for this until I saw the video, ATR is a great car game especially for the time it was made but this looks all wrong. Really floaty looking gameplay, needs more work to make it look/feel more weighty and a little bit drifty.

Dude, if you're still bitchin' bout lag via 2.4ghz then enjoy playing on your heavy, oversized CRT for the limited time you have left with wired controllers/arcade sticks.

I'm old enough to have played SF2 on the arcades, Tekken in tournys, Quake via PC Lan and other twitch based games yet lag talk is so frickin boring. How about you dont worry about how other people play.

I remember playing this on my OG Xbox and really enjoying the experience, I never bothered with the sequels due to the negative reviews. The first one had a grand charm to it and the learning difficulty was perfectly pitched.

Importing a Jap PS2 and playing this relently and still finding secrets years after its release.

The port was incredible, if you compare the arcade to PS2. I remember seeing the preview screenshots in Edge magazine and crapping my pants!

Funny you say that, I remember seeing a demo unit with Goonies or Goonies 2. That was the one title that stuck out to me as I had no idea there was even a Goonies video game!

I remember playing SFA on the GBC and thinking it was a marvel and whatever happened to the developers..... Now I know their sad but unfortunately common story.

I replaced 3 of the Cold Storage tracks with the PAL exclusives. As soon as I loaded up Phantom Edition then the Orbital track kicked in HARD!

Body Blows and Full contact looked good for the time but played like ass.

ATR, Project X and the Alien Breed series were like console quality games on the good ol Ami though.
