Re: Hardware Review: Believe The Hype, Polymega Is The Ultimate All-In-One Retro Machine

Whoa, this thing is a beast! I was not planning on getting one, but the review makes it sound amazing. I will sit on my decision. What sucks is I already have many minis and other ways to play...but having an all in one machine that will be good for a long time is a nice thing to have. And I love having the original carts/CDs, so it would speak to the collector in me. Too much negativity here on this machine given what it does. Everyone's an expert and they know everything better than anyone else...as usual...and without ever even touching the machine.

I own the Pacman and it is great...I used it in an Pacman arcade competition and it worked extremely well, you can abuse that thing and it kept on ticking just like the real thing. It never felt like it was about to break. I'd love to have the real thing, but not all of us have the room for the real thing even if we can afford them. So smaller versions like this are very much appreciated. And I like Pacman so much, I plan on getting some of the others.

This thing is taking way too long to come out. At this point with multiple minis, redone analogue systems which are superb and the amount of retro titles released on a weekly basis...interest is now non existent. It’s taking them way too long. And it sounds to me as if it’s still a long ways away if the chipset still hasn’t been delivered and who knows how well it will actually work. It’s a solid pass for me now.

Re: Feature: The Console Wars Are Back With The Analogue Mega Sg, The First FPGA Sega Console

I own the Analogue NT and the Analogue Super NT and they are incomparable in terms of using the original Nintendo and third party products and outputting the highest possible graphic quality available. I use Famicom & NES cartridges as well as a Famicom disk system on the Analogue NT and it looks flawless. For the Super NT, it makes SNES games look the best I’ve ever seen, even better than the mini SNES.

So if you treasure Sega and still enjoy playing the original carts, and have a little bit of money to spend, this purchase should be a no brainer. I cannot overstate how satisfying their other products are.

Now I hope an Analogue 64 is next.
