I find this story rather awkward. From reading the quotes, I don't get the feeling that DKC was easier or CB harder, but rather, that DKC was way better paced on terms of mechanics and enemy management. Which is often the case on Japanese games, much more often than western ones. Not because one sucks more than the other but due to different philosophy of gaming (freedom vs boundaries).
I certainly didn't think CB was harder than DKC, especially if you try to 100% DKC. A common mistake people make about Nintendo games.
@XiaoShao you shouldn't, even for "newer" systems. There are a few reports on the internet complaining of LRG releases bricking Switches and damaging PS4's optic drives
@slider1983 tell that to the hundreds of people that didn't get their games or got blatantly lied to and scammed with other games form WM, like Pier Solar, for which half the orders were not fulfilled and not refunded
@Babsy3D it's literally written, love it. Someone didn't check the actual FAQ, obviously.
I personally hope and would acclaim not having the WD translation. I know they did what they could at the time and without them we wouldn't have had it then, but their translation WAS awful and that's just a fact. Having a better translation is always welcome.
After the Great Architects debacle, I am rather surprised that they are even still in business and that people were still stupid enough to give them their money. WM is a scam company, always has been.
@Hexapus Are you purposedly not understanding the point they are making? If the comparison with the printing press is lost on you then, god help us. I'm not sure if you're trolling or if you don't actually know what you're talking about... Let's admit you're an artist (something I actually doubt at this point but let's): remember when digital drawing was introduced? Yeah... Same thing here with AI...
Maybe one day, like any invention, (yes like the press!) and proper regulations, people will finally realise that generative AI is just another tool for artists. One that can, idk, create poses on demand for character references, extend an idea to improve art, help brainstorming, and god would it be so terrible if it helps individuals with no monetary means achieve their dreams? Like any tech, a few big corpo will try to abuse it bu the technology itself is not bad, and can be beneficial to everyone if you use it responsibly... Like any other invention ever.
@KingMike FFX is often considered the "last true" Final Fantasy and is loved for Blitzball and its battle and evolution systems, both considered some of the bests in the JRPG, to the point they are often copied... If you don't know what you're talking about, just shush.
I'm confused as to why anyone is surprised by their pettiness. Most fan-translators and members of the emulation community have an ego bigger than that of Musk. It's not the first time stg like this happens, it won't be the last.
They didn't realise anything in 12y, someone took over, tough luck for them but that's what happens when you think so high of yourself but don't do *****.
Never saw the movie, but I have the book in French. It's an OK story but nothing groundbreaking and it was very much destined to kids/early teens.
Still interesting to see those coming back.

Re: Talking Point: Are Nintendo's Legal "Ninjas" Stifling The Creativity Of Tomorrow's Game Makers?
@Polley001
Yes but spreading misinformation and polarising people is much more profitable for traffic.

Re: Fan Translation And ROM Hack Site CDRomance Is No Longer Being Updated
And by putting that on your front page, a mainstream website, you're totally helping reducing the exposure, hmm?

So excited for this. While I played the unofficial remake for PC not long ago, I will jump on the opportunity to play this gem once again
