One thing that’s really changed in gaming the past 20 years is that games are more or less released at the same time all over the world. SMB3 was released in Japan only a month after SMB2 was released in America. SMB3 was released in Europe just after the SNES was released in America and 9 months after the SFC was released in Japan.
