I think I have a different view of this issue than most. As an American growing up in the 80s, I was completely unaware of the gaming scene in Europe and Japan. We were in different worlds isolated from each other. In my world, there was a video game crash. I now know there was a vibrant computer gaming scene in Europe and Japan. Instead of going back and debating whether or not there was a crash, or whatever, I believe we should embrace and take in this fuller, more comprehensive global history of gaming and move forward.
