I find these kind of non-sequitur statements permeate around the MiSTer scene, just because it passes a load of hardware tests does not mean the game "plays" more accurate than emulation, it's still a WIP and many games do not run and a lot have sound issues.
It's incredibly hard to believe Jotego isn't for profit at circa 30k a month and 4300 patreons, it is an incredible amount of money.
I find his cores are serviceable but not without flaws, just check out the github, old existing cores still aren't 100%. So while I appreciate the schematic work done here, it could be put to better use.
I get the impression he gets caught up in putting out new releases.
I can't get excited for this when they have announced no new cores or any actual core development. Maybe they will have something worth my money in a year or two.
Looks awesome, one of my issues with Mister is that it looks like there is too much configuration involved. I just want to pick up a game and play! MARS might be the thing that scratches that itch.

This is just going to be a MiSTer with snac in a bit of fancy plastic, do not assume there will be a new UI or the ability to use discs, ever.

Great interview, ignore the naysayers in the comments. Just tribal crap that isn't helping.
