@Sketcz I think Microsoft goals and decisions can be summed up in two words and a letter : as a service. Game pass, Office 365, even Windows is getting there.
@Damo The threat of generative "AI" is not limited to journalism or anything really, it's everywhere and everyone should talk about it, whether you're a gaming journalist or someone with a blog about knitting.
I got both my N3DS and my Switch in 2017. Yet, I've played a lot more with the N3DS than the Switch. While it's not the popular opinion, I consider the (N)3DS the last great Nintendo console. It might change one day but the Switch and Switch 2 are nowhere near as good, for me at least (but I completely respect your opinion if you disagree.) So I'm not surprised by those prices.
@GravyThief
Yes you can play VB on the N3DS and it is awesome.
@avcrypt Analogue used Near's research (Higan/Bsnes/Ares original dev) too, which is not surprising since they were incredible knowledgeable and talented. And they were behind the MSU-1, the custom extension chip for the SNES.
" Analogue Pocket is based on FPGA hardware, which means that it emulates other systems on a hardware rather than software level – that means more accurate emulation. "
That's simply not true, using hardware emulation doesn't magically make it more accurate and there's no cap on how accurate software emulators can be or already are. An old but still accurate (not punt intended) article from Near (no less!) summed that up nicely : https://archive.is/fWosI
@hste Studios used to send advance copies to journalists for exposure and much needed cheap advertisement. Now they use "Influencers", I don't think it's that surprising.

Re: "The Xbox Project Has Failed" - Picking Up The Pieces After Microsoft's Darkest Day In Gaming
@PKDuckman They still make some money with OEM licences (directly and indirectly) and (a lot more) with professional licences.

Re: This Man Now "Owns Commodore", But His Use Of Generative AI Has Some Fans Worried
@Bizzy
Every community will turn toxic when it gets big enough, I don't know how that can be avoided.

A fear mongering article against NFT! Shame

The bourgeois collecting is a virus on the hard drive of the old school gamer!
(My current Futurama rewatch might have influenced this post.)

FYI Exult is also available on Linux, no precompiled binaries are released that's all.

All those optimizations and they still ended up wasted.

Re: Atari Jaguar Emulation Has Arrived On iPhone
@Sketcz
What emu did you try? Ares supports Cue/wav and CHDs at least and I would be surprised if it didn't support ISOs too.
