I feel that this article lacks on some BGM background. Indeed the artist did a great job with this version. With that in mind, BOTH consoles had a fantastic run soundtrack wise. Nintendo was digging the tunes since the 8bit era. And this was a huge head start that gathered a fantastic team of composers for the years to come. So it's kind of pointless to compare which one is the best. The mega drive ost library is remarkable if you check their original games, such as Sonic and Streets of Rage (Yuzu Koshiro). With different soundchips and composers all consoles are great when they're not trying to copy each other.
