@Damo I don’t think it was, I don’t remember going into the Haymarket to buy import games for my Gameboy. I remember the shop being on High Street on the opposite side to Irish. Needless to say it’s no longer there as the Shires was built on that side. (Which is now the Highcross). I used to stand in the shop looking at the Super Famicom running Pilot Wings and Super R-Type.
I remember buying an imported Japanese copy from a shop in Leicester town centre, they had all sorts of imported games and hardware one of which was the Super Famicom.
R-Type is a classic and I still have the copy I brought along with my original Gameboy
