I absolutely LOVE Godzilla: Final Wars; it's such a bonkers, over-the-top mishmash of nearly everything the kaiju genre can do, I just can't help but appreciate it. I consider it my absolute favorite of the Millenium-era movies, and amongst my favorite of ALL Godzilla movies.
It is definitely a shame we didn't get a Yoji Shinkawa-designed MechaGodzilla, but I understand the director's reasoning. Plus... the movie was already around two and a half hours long; I don't know where they would have fit it in! Still, it would have been nice to see some designs, if they had gotten that far.
While I quite enjoyed the first Warlock movie, and Boxing Helena is great for an almost art-house-ish horror/thriller tale, I think it would be remiss not to mention that Julian Sands starred in the wonderful Arachnophobia, as a spider-loving, over-enthusiastic scientist. Haven't seen him in anything for years, but it sucks knowing there won't be anything ever again.
