Thanks all, Mikolai from Forgotten Worlds here. Genuinely appreciate the support. We’ve just hit the 50% market and have unlocked new reward tiers - including the full back catalogue of magazines.
Great article. And I very much understand / appreciate the concept of video game graphics as an abstraction. I find a great art style much more interesting than photo realism.
@bring_on_branstons Game Zone was great. It was in the original list but I ultimately bumped it for Arcade magazine. Oh, this is Mikolai, the guy who wrote this.
@Sketcz VG&CE was definitely opinionated. At one point they wanted to ban Dr Mario because ‘drugs’… Oh, and Game Zone was great. It was originally on the list but was ultimately bumped by Arcade magazine.
I think the whole pre-order-limited-run business model has already jumped the shark. To many averages releases, too many delays, too many dodgy operators. Throw in cost of living issues and I think we’re collectively done…
@ChromaticDracula Hi, it’s Mikolai here from Forgotten Worlds. Thanks for the kind words. Oh, and the Devils Blush publication is amazing. Would highly recommend.
@modernmedicine Hiya, thanks for the kind words. I’m actually looking at doing a ‘pink bullets’ remix of the original zine. But I wanna get the magazine and a couple of other things out the door first.

Re: Forgotten Worlds Digs Into Some Of The Greatest Magazines Of All Time
@Didz yeah, those air freight editions were highly sought after (and expensive). The alternative was waiting 3 months for steamboat shipping.
Re: Hands On: ON Is A Scholarly New Bookazine Created By Some Of The Best Writers In Video Games

Re: Toaplan's Slap Fight & Grind Stormer Are Being Reissued For Modern Consoles
I always wanted the Mega Drive port of Slap Fighter (with the bonus mode), but it goes for a stupid price.

Re: Strictly Limited Games Announces Irem Volume 1-5 Bundle Collection
I gotta agree with JJtheTexan here, this limited run cottage industry is dangerously close to jumping the shark.
