Re: "The Xbox Project Has Failed" - Picking Up The Pieces After Microsoft's Darkest Day In Gaming

And y'all applauded the Activision acquisition, didn't you!? Yes you did and I recall the entire media nation doing so as a disruption of Sony making further progress and look how it ended up going. Many of us knew them, we could see far enough down the road. Youre justifying their actions right now rather than them having foresight to keep smaller teams and not have a ballooned budget. We're seeing today you don't need massive teams to make the equivalent kind of experience and not nearly as much money if your producer is doing their job. THATS THEIR JOB! But when you look at Relic (Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2) and Team Asobi (Astro Bot), there ya have it. Two smaller teams that made massive games. Relic did Gears of War will a much smaller team and equally as impactful, maybe even better selling.

It's not just CEO Phil Spencer. The Great Xbox Savior, right? This is all his doing, making Xbox worse off. But Xbox entails all involved. Sarah Bond the PRESIDENT OF XBOX is equally as much to blame, but she's also the sacrificial goat if it gets too hairy for Spencer, he'll cut her loose and blame it solely on her, but she's just as responsible and this falls equally on her shoulders too

Oh, but man! If you lived back then and you had both, what a ride? It's the same today. While I like PlayStation infinitely more than Xbox and PlayStation is by far more innovative, it's great to have all of them. In that time, though, I played on SEGA first but, I got to play Resident 2, Syphon Filter, Crash Bandicoot, etc. on my PlayStation. (We didn't have an N64, I went to my buddies for that) so I never really missed out. Such as it is today, again, like PlayStation a lot more, but having a PS5, an Xbox Series S and X, and a Nintendo Switch, I never miss out, I can play what I want. People that choose sides out of fanboyism miss a good opportunity once in a while. For those that can only afford one, we feel for you and decisions like that are tough, but no more. You can play everything on PS5 and when you're able to get a Switch, rock and roll. (I also know it's like to see your favorite console manufacturer die. Long Live the Dreamcast) But, looking back on it, while Sega Sammy isn't anywhere near the same, I know today, now, the bad decisions SEGA made that put them in that situation I wish they hadn't made. I wish Sega of America and Sega of Japan got along rather than butting heads and we're more cooperative and ported more games over to the US. Xbox fans will one day, with a clearer mind and no blinders come to see the same thing. That Xbox made a series of really bad decisions that led to their demise. BUT, it doesn't mean there's no competition. There's still a choice. PlayStation, Nintendo, and Steam

Re: Valve's Unshackling Of SteamOS Could Give Switch 2 Some Welcome Competition

Or they just killed Xbox's handheld that was so Windows focused before they could hit the market. But, what I see is PlayStation just got suckered. Steam OS being available on any handheld means Phil Spencer just got what he wanted. PlayStation were stupid enough to release their PlayStation exclusives on Steam. That's what Phil Spencer was trying to to convince Gabe Newell to do, allow Steam and get Tim Sweeney to make Epic Games Launcher available on Xbox. That allows PlayStation games to be played on Xbox consoles. Phil Spencer wanted God of War and Helldivers II on Xbox, with this move, he just got it and you'll be able to play PlayStation games on an Xbox.

PlayStation, you idiots. You fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Xbox got you while Nintendo sits in their corner giggling saying: Hey, all of our games are still 100% available and only on our hardware. It's the ONLY way to play
