Looking at their previous inventory, they include a hideous "My Arcade" logo right below the screen. I can't not look at it. It pulls me out of the illusion instantly and negates the whole point.
Weird that they would have the rights to Locomotion already, but not TTDX. I have zero faith in a TTDX revival because everything has been done by OpenTTD, already. This will just be used to milk the brand and sell nostalgic or related merch.
The lack of save states is a feature because it's an unavoidable part of the original, intended experience. No matter how high your willpower is, if you have the safety of a save state in the back of your mind, you are going to have a weaker experience. You are free to leave the machine on, if persistence between days is the issue. Life is about experiencing it's struggles.
I don't follow this: "is widely regarded to be the better".
Maybe I hang out on Sega groups more than you, but it's actually quite the opposite in my experience. I find the crowd who grew up with these systems agrees that the warm, analog Yamaha FM synthesizer produces much better music and some sound effects. There might be a few cases where you'd want to stream digital audio, but for 16-bit games, the Mega Drive's arcade synthesizer fits the games much better than low-res sampled effects.
@TeamBigRig I'm okay with waiting, and although they make a lot of shipping mistakes, their support is great. My main problem is that their collector edition boxes are way too big. Space is at a premium, and I can't afford to store low information density physical objects. Also, their prices are all a little bit too high. RetroBit is a much preferred choice for original console game hardware physical releases.
All those games, but Utopia was the one that really got me. Haven't heard that music in almost 30 years. I always wanted to see what happens as you get further.

New Wave Toys should have got the license.

Re: Multiple Copies Of Delayed Mega Drive Game Paprium Discovered In French Warehouse
@gingerbeardman My take, as well. Anyone familiar with the campaign would see that.

Re: 'The Epyx Collection: Handheld' Brings 6 Atari Lynx Games To Switch
This needs ad-hoc multiplayer to finally revive 8-way Slime World battles.
Also, a physical copy.
