Agreed with others that NL editorial seemed far too accommodating long after Amico turned into an obvious scam. Just my opinion but I hope NL will take this criticism to heart.
Even after filtering out all the junk, there are more games available for the current Nintendo console than this site can possibly review.
And yet here is another instance where this site devotes its limited resources to covering a product that may never even come to market. Nintendolife has now likely published more words about the Amico than the number of consoles that will sell. And this time, put your pitchforks and torches away, guys, because the real point of *this article is the potentially revolutionary way in which Tommy Talarico will rip off the people still fervently buying into this.
Far, far too much ink devoted to a con man. Spend these resources on reviewing games. If we wanted to read Tommy huffing his own farts we could join his cult elsewhere.
Earthworm Jim is supposed to launch with (or near) the console in October. How much of that gameplay did we see? That's as close to a "killer app" as it will have and it's clearly not close. Many of the rest of the games on offer are ports of mobile games or remakes of simple classics. None of this adds up to a $250 console, in my opinion. Also I am not sure I understand how "simple gameplay" and an alleged 60+ point controller go together. Not to mention the lag concerns that have been raised elsewhere. I hope they pull it off; more choice is better. But this looks DOA to me.
