Consoles I've lost over the years: NES, Super Nintendo, Game Gear, Nintendo 64, X360(first gen). I had a spare N64 and bought a new X360. Glad to have the NES and SNES minis. Also glad that Switch has many game collections and for anything truely lost I have my computer for emulation.
@LandOfZeldtir yeah, as a 7 year old in a theater with a nice sound system, that song gets you ready for an incredible movie. Still works with 30 year old me too.😆
This is probably one of my top 10 guilty pleasure movies. I don't care what critics or "superfans" say. I love this movie and could probably be happy watching it once a week. Its just so fun!
Try to quote Bison lines without cracking up, I dare you. 😁 edit
Other perfectly good videogame movies:
Street Fighter Assassin's Fist-the serious SF movie you're looking for
Mortal Kombat-enjoyable adaptation of the first game. Cheesy, but good.
Super Mario Bros: a mess, but still entertaining
Resident Evil-almost scary, good action
Resident Evil Apocalypse-funnier, even better action.
Silent Hill-scary, plot filled, good horror.
Bonus: Legend of Link-will have you bursting with laughter. Find it on youtube by dannysammonsjr.
If this is Console War 1, I guess Atari VCS vs Intellivision is Console War 0? Perhaps the Napoleonic or Crimean Wars? And if anyone tries to say they weren't competitive, go watch some Intellivision commercials that tell Americans that only morons would buy an Atari.
@gurtifus I mean, the ending lines of the comet about how Will will burn Kara's image into his mind and how he'll find her in the next lifetime, no matter what with that epic musical theme. I still get teary eyed thinking about it....and then in the after credits scene he fulfills his promise!
In the history of gaming, I can't think of a better ending. Yes, I am an emotional sap. 😂
Interesting to know that although I started on an NES and not the C64 or Master System, I owned and played every SNES game this guy name dropped. I've loved gaming since I was 4 and was exposed to Super Mario, Robowarrior, and Solar Jetman, but yes, Illusion of Gaia/time was the most epic and emotionally powerful game I played in my youth, not to mention it helped immensely with my reading comprehension. Personally my two dozen NES, dozen genesis, and 40 SNES games were all sold during college. Just couldn't see holding onto them when money was tight and since I had a modded Xbox with the libraries of all 3 systems. Luckily I have modded NES and SNES classics now, but I try to shave my collections down of other systems and ask myself every year: do I ever want to play this again? I still collect games that I love and currently have 10 physical Switch games and 29 digital. Hope he gets a nice house with the fundage!
Great classic Atari 2600 1st party games:
Asteroids
Battlezone
Breakout/Super Breakout
Centipede/Millipede
Fatal Run
Missile Command
Polaris
Solaris
Yar's Revenge
Great Licensed Games:
Space Invaders
Pacman Jr
Frogger
Great 3rd party games:
Pitfall/Pitfall II
Enduro
River Raid
Kaboom
My favorite Atari Arcade: Tempest
If they can bring those back+new fun stuff, sounds like a good deal to me.
I wish there were greater strides to making old videogames available. Availability of NES and SNES minis would be nice, as would a Switch virtual console. Most gamers don't want to be "criminals", but big companies leave us little choice with limited production lines and scalper style secondary markets and yes, I have paid for legit versions of my games several times over and I'm fine to do it again. Having a complete set of NES, SNES, and Genesis roms on an old xbox is mere convenience.
Originally played Desert Strike on Genesis at a friend's house. Got my own copy on gameboy, loved it. When I have a strike hankering nowadays I fire up my modded xbox with the roms for SNES. Love these games.

Re: Atari Comes Under Fire For Seemingly Knowing Very Little About Its Crowdfunded VCS Console
All but accused the reporter of fake news and ended the post with "Sad."
This company seems very unhinged.
