This game had so much replay. The coin collecting and then reverse world added so much gameplay and I never really got tired of it. The added air racing and water racing made it much more than a Kart game. This and Goldeneye made me constantly push myself to improve.
The TurboExpress was the most powerful portable for a long time. It was really advanced at the time but very expensive. Many of the ones you find now have dead or dying capacitors though you can pick them up for $30 and spend less than $20 to fix them if you know how. I almost picked out a TG16 for my birthday one year when they were being cleared out of Radio Shack for $50 but instead I bought a Soundcard (which wasn't great).
Hmm I would buy one and have the logo laser etched into the wood.
Back in 1998/99 I wanted a Neogeo system pretty badly. They had an AES unit with games at a local pawn shop for $200 or $300 and I was tempted to trade in my computer (which probably wasn't worth a lot). I was still heavily into Negeo up until about 5 years ago but never bought an AES or MVS machine. I had seen some arcade cabinets for as low as $50 but never had the space for one. I even came across a 6 slot machine with Metal Slug 1 & 2 + other games for $250.

Re: Myth Becomes Reality As Atari's E.T. Cartridges Are Unearthed In New Mexico Landfill
@Tender_Cutlet You realize this is New Mexico which is a desert, you know the same kind of conditions where they find THOUSAND YEAR OLD MUMMIES?
The digging up of this curse can only mean one thing...Another video game crash!

Re: Carved with Love - Introducing the Wooden Neo Geo MVS
Awesome though personally I would have liked an accent of aluminum or something.
