There's already been a TV ad leaked (released?) that confirms this is a Gleeok. Specifically it's a Flame Gleeok, so presumably there will be other types as well.
On a personal note, I'm super hyped about the return of old enemies. I'm hoping those large bat-like things we've been seeing in other trailers are Vires, and I'm crossing my fingers for Tektites, Leevers, Peahats, and Like-Likes.

@Ear_wiG According to the Metroid Prime games, the morph ball has a 1-meter diameter. It is not small.
