Back then Nintendo was really arrogant and blind to the competition after dominating with the NES and SNES. If they would have used discs they would have dominated another gen.

I don't think the 64DD would have made much difference. Most developers jumped to the PS already. It's really interesting reading about this time in gaming history. As kid I didn't notice all of this going on. I was lucky to own both the N64 and Playstation, so I had access to every great release.

Never owned a Sega Saturn. I skipped Sega after the mega drive. They really maked a mess with their consoles. First Sega CD and then releasing the 32x and Sega Saturn almost back to back.
