Those are computers. How many were actually used for games, and to what extent? If we're talking about a video game crash, this tells you nothing about how many games were actually sold. We can speculate, but a simple surface google search didn't find any numbers.

Besides, you said the ZX spectrum sold over 5 million units. Atari sold over 30 million. Numbers don't mean much without context, and given Ataris HAD to be used for gaming, I'm going to speculate the scale of game industries between continents were massive.
