There's the USB and all, but we've all read articles in the past 10 or so years about disc rot, right? Like even factory sealed disc based games are being found to degrade in their case.
I also find it hilarious that one of the posts says that USB-A is being phased out when you can STILL buy motherboards that have PS/2 ports on them.
This was/is one of my favourite arcade games, and one my favourite Atari 7800 games. It's a shame... The above video makes it look like some generic, mobile shooting game. It feels like it wouldn't be too difficult for someone to take the top down look of Food Fight and perhaps add a few different mechanics. I mean, the potential for Food Fight to evolve into something akin to Bomber Man doesn't seem too far off.
I used to play Thexder on the Apple IIGS. It's one of those weird games that makes it feel like you're the only one who ever heard of it. This at least confirms it wasn't all imagined.
@Daggot Loved the Manhole, loved Cosmic Osmo even more. I still listen to the soundtrack of Cosmic Osmo to this day. That was back when you could pop a CD-ROM into a regular CD player and skip the first (data) track, and then the rest of the CD would be the WAV music.
Check out the Japanese show Gamecenter CX if you haven't before. Each episode they have a segment called "You Should Visit this Game Center Sometimes" where the main guy visits all manner of game centres or like the above mentioned lolly shops with the mechanical based games. It's pretty fun to watch!
I’d like to add that I also thought the WASD keyboard setup was weird and nonsensical the first few times I encountered it as well. I would always change the controls back to using either the arrow keys or the number pad like I was used to.
I knew about it because I always look at the options of games. I remember thinking at the time that it seemed totally crazy - exorbitant, lavish perhaps - to use two controllers at once. But then I had a friend who was really in to Goldeneye and he preferred to play that way.

Re: Over 30 Years Later, Someone Is Giving Ocean's 'Jurassic Park 2' A Much-Needed Overhaul
This is one of my favourite SNES games. It has one of the best opening scenes for the system, and also included Dolby Surround sound!

That is a splash screen for NES while featuring the cover art for Contra III for the SNES, right?
