I don't think piracy is ethical, but it's hardly the only point to consider here. Like it or not, Nintendo owns their stuff, and they have the legal right to take your whole career down if need be to protect their stuff. Don't give Nintendo a license to mess up your life like they did to Gary Bowser. They will do it.
That said, why do people even like this company anymore? I didn't really grow up with it myself (aside from some emulation, ironically), so maybe I don't understand, but why care so much about an awful company that will mess you up that you do the very things that alert them? After the Palworld lawsuit, I'm not considering their stuff anymore. I'll just get a ROG Ally instead lol smh.
The Shenmue one looks alright, aside from the fact that the people are not accurate at all. For example, that one guy with tan skin towards the end had his design completely changed to be a different skin tone, and the protagonist looked completely different. Also, it did not upgrade everything. The steering wheel on the forklift, for instance, remained a chunky Dreamcast polygon. I didn't like it, but it didn't sear my eyes like so much AI content.
The Mario 64 one was awful, though. At first glance, it's kind of cool how it makes the levels look like they're made of household objects and toys. Look closer at anything that has a specific design, and it looks really wonky. Oh, and the horror-game-like slide sequence and how Mario's face morphs into a coherent face at the very end and blinks really unnerved me.
