Wow, that's pretty cool. I actually never played the Alien Resurrection game, but you could say the film is a guilty pleasure of mine. I think it's better than Alien 3 not gonna lie.
Ah I picked up the 3ds version of Steel Empire back in the day, it really is an excellent shmup. Probably one of my all time favourites actually, due to it's unique aesthetic.
Developing an Akira game that actually does the source material justice seems like a tall order...A combat racing game where you play as the various biker gangs would've been cool tho.
Was not aware of this, I only ever played the snes versions of SF2. Well I ain't about to start using it now, I don't need such exploits to defeat my opponents;)
Great game, I love the haunting atmosphere as you traverse the abandoned palace. I actually like the two sequels as well, they really improved upon the combat side of things.
I had known about this game for a long time, but only got to play it when it released on the wii virtual console. It has since become my favourite of the classic style castlevanias, super Castlevania 4 being a close second.
The original snes games aren't the best, but this look like it could be decent. I don't mind the polygonal graphics, almost reminds me of Dynamite Cop on dreamcast.
@bippity_bop I think Area 51 was the most ubiquitous light gun game back in the day, at least in my region. It was literally everywhere. That and Cruisin' USA, was pretty much standard in any arcade/movie theatre/bar.
Great game, I played it a ton back in the day. Sadly I no longer have my copy, but I picked up the sequel for like 10 bucks at a used game shop that was closing down and getting rid of their inventory.
Ah Legend, I actually have an original Snes cart. It's honestly pretty mediocre. It's plays like a worse version of King of Dragons. It's also hard as balls, I've never seen the end.
McDonald's has kinda disappeared in my city. They used to be everywhere, but now I couldn't tell you where to find one. It's all Popeyes chicken and the occasional A&W now. Clearly the tide has turned in the ongoing fast food wars.
@-wc- Yeah, while I enjoy the GBA castlevanias, SotN will always be king in my eyes. Have you played Rondo of Blood? It's my fav of the older style vanias. Actually it's probably tied with 4.
Been awhile but I came up with a pretty fool proof system for getting past those spikes. I just timed it right and ran up the far left side of the ramp.
I remember being incredibly disappointed by this game back in the day. Being the naive child I was, I went in expecting a super mario world style platformer, and the game had the audacity to try and educate me! How dare it.
I think it's likely I sunk more hours into mariokart wii than any other, my sister and I played a ton back in the day. It's hard to say tho, the runners up would be MK64 and MK8.
Oh yeah, this guy's got some crazy skills. His work definitely elevated the Prime games.
As a visual artist myself, I watched one of his tutorials years ago. Unfortunately it wasn't very helpful for me personally. He had a strange process involving building up layers of shapes and textures, until you find your image within. Certainly interesting, but not at all how my brain works when it comes to drawing.
@RootsGenoa I hear you regarding Magician Lord, I've never liked it. Unattractive visuals, and stiff, slow character movement, not to mention unforgiving difficulty. Cool premise, just poor execution.
I've been wanting to play Nightmare in the Dark for the longest time now, but it inexplicably still hasn't been ported to Switch along with nearly ever other game on this list. Ah well, there's always emulation I suppose.
I'm very interested in this, but seems way too much for what is likely a very short old arcade game. It's gonna be like 45 bucks with tax here in Canada. That's almost as much as Capcom Arcade Stadium.
I would love a new Shining Force on Switch. I discovered Shining Force 2 on the wii VC a few years back, (never had a Genesis growing up), and it has quickly become one of my fav RPGs.
This actually looks really cool, shame it never saw release. I stilll have a dreamcast I picked up used circa 2003. I occasionally bust it out to play Zombie's Revenge, Dynamite Cop, or MvC2.

Re: A Bunch Of Data East Games Have Vanished From The Switch eShop
Maybe it ain't the best port, but Night Slashers is still one of the best beat em ups on the system. Curious how the upcoming remake will turn out.

Re: Konami's Arcade Beat 'Em Up 'Asterix' Could Be Getting A Fanmade Port For The SNES
Loved reading the comics as a kid, even though some of the humour went over my head at the time.

Re: SNES Classic Cybernator Is Coming To Switch Next Month, Thanks To M2
Awesome mech game. Don' think I ever beat it though, it gets pretty tough towards the latter stages.
Re: Best Beat 'Em Ups Of All Time
I would add The Ninja Saviors and Night Slashers, otherwise, pretty solid list.

Re: Random: Seinfeld's Jason Alexander Doesn't Recall That "Angry" Metroid Prime Photo
Haha, it does look staged tho. His pose, and his expression, it's like his mom walked in on him doing...something else.
Re: Best PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 Games
Besides Rondo of Blood, I think Lords of Thunder is my fav tg-16 game. It's metal af.

Re: Channel 4 Is Resurrecting GamesMaster, The UK's Most Popular Video Game TV Show
I never grew up with this show, as I live in Canada. But I do have fond memories of watching Video and Arcade Top Ten on YTV back in the day.
Re: A Near-Legendary Castlevania Beta Has Just Been Shared Online
Between this, Super Castlevania and Rondo of Blood I think Bloodlines is the toughest. At least it's given me the most trouble out of the three.
Re: We're Getting A New Shining Force Game, But Of Course There's A Catch
