Imagine having control of how accessible that download will be post support.
Got a physical cart for Intellivision? Shame that company is now defunked and pulled access to said download.
And let's not mention how predatory it becomes once the system is removed from circulation and all support is pulled. The games are then rendered useless.
@Shadowmoon522 - Early model PS3, had a recorded history to overheat because whatever Sony did for the tech that read PS2 games wasn't exactly optimized for the build of the console. And because of this, several could heat up enough the case would warp and distort, and even meld itself to the tech inside.
@YozenFroghurt - supposedly the RRoD were caused by "different circumstances" every time I had it.
The PS3 I got was one of the early models that had problems because it could read PS2 games, which apparently attributed to more than a few that overheated. My latter PS3 is still functional.
I know time takes away all things. At least I have kept good on my word to maintain all my consoles where applicable. My Atari still requires no blowing to start just fine. I am proud of that.

Re: Trademark For Intellivision Amico Has Been Abandoned
Well, start porting EWJ4.
Re: Intellivision Closes Amico Fundraising Ahead Of Schedule
@Fugazi8 - Not entirely true. They probably have been developing some sort of structure since its tease early on.
Would be folly to just let it die outright. Especially when many highlight that as one of the go-to examples to be excited for the console.
Re: Intellivision Closes Amico Fundraising Ahead Of Schedule
This just tells me Earthworm Jim 4 is being ported.
I. Am. Ready.

Re: Intellivision's Amico Is Shaping Up To Be The Most 'Nintendo' Non-Nintendo System Ever
It's going to struggle hard.
I expect many of those to get a Switch port later down the road as well.
Simply because you got brand awareness, tech benchmarks and an obscure hook all working in tandem against it.
I will be buying one, namely cause Earthworm Jim, but I don't expect much to launch this console.
Re: Best Of 2019: Your Beloved Games Console Is Slowly But Surely Dying
@Shadowmoon522 - The latter models didn't have the same tech, nor the intent to read PS2 games. My slim is still kicking about as well.

Re: Best Of 2019: Your Beloved Games Console Is Slowly But Surely Dying
@ClassSonicSatAm - I was the poster child of the RRoD going through 4 360s in a year. My first PS3 melted.
