Sometimes religious references can be too fourth wall breaking. Like people get upset when they take judeo-christian symbols out of games like Zelda, but really it's just weird to have them there in the first place.

@Cronodoug Yeah, I'm pretty sure most people who say they're not going to vote for someone are eligible to do so. If I just go on some article about Boris Johnson and say "I'm not going to vote for him, but I got to respect a man who loves whiff whaff", that would be pretty odd behavior for someone who isn't in his constituency

@Azuris @Trmn8r It doesn't need to be mentioned at all which way they vote, that's the point, you can't keep something neutral if you feel the need to voice a political opinion while doing so.

@Razieluigi Yeah I definitely don't love their business model. But as long as they're selling their own stock, then competition among their own stuff is ideal, unless that competition stops their own stuff from competing with other people's stuff. Which at this point they might be doing, and yes you're right cannibalize isn't the right word for that, but I get what you mean. However they do have a large enough market share that I have no idea if it even matters for them.

I'm super excited to play this whenever my play date actually gets here.

@IceClimbersMain Jesus, comments like this are exactly why they're afraid to post anything remotely political. Nobody can refrain from talking about who they're going to vote for, and then it turns into a mess.

@Razieluigi You can't cannibalize your own market. They could end up with too much back stock, but I think they're selling everything they have, at which point you want your products to be competing with each other, that's the ideal scenario.

On the bald guy with glasses spectrum, I'd put him somewhere in between Jason Kidd and Moby.

Where are all these people who can't do original ideas, or write to save their lives, but can program sweet games? I can never find people like that

@Azuris The concept of quality control is quite literally foreign to China. Their manufacturing industry is in no way built around that, so I agree there's going to be a huge range. I also think it's dangerous to just be like "anything from AliExpress will start a fire".

This is almost exactly the same size as a vita 1000 for anyone wondering, I just measured mine, it's a tiny bit thicker, but a a bit shorter.

It's a pretty nice design

Other companies should take heed of this form factor though.

You shouldn't be using opengl for burnout 3 anyway, so that's part of the problem.

I've never encountered this problem, I think it's better to just not drop your controller, or get carpeting.

Noooo, just leave it alone! Games that break boundaries by pushing system limits in creative ways don't translate to modern systems in a way that in any way preserves their original greatness.

@Razieluigi There's nothing about the switch that makes it match well with tetris. It's controllers are literally the worst two d-pads I have ever used. I mean, one isn't even a d-pad. Also the latency is noticeable with tetris games, proper ones.

I guess there's potential here, though someone who's been doing blockchain and gambling is not someone I really want to see games from. Not the people can't compartmentalize, but also most people can't compartmentalize.

@TheBigK For all intents and purposes, North America is three countries, especially in the rest of the world's eyes, if one in three has something, I think that's sort of means North America does to most people.

Honestly this whole collection is sort of blah, and there's not really a console less well set up to play Tetris on than the switch. Maybe the switch light is better for it? I believe it has metal dome caps.

I love how charmingly unbiased insider comments can be, where they can talk about the effect that this had in their eyes, which is a big deal, but kind of not see the overall effect as being larger in general. That's the thing though with a game so prolific, it changed so much you hardly know where to look, it's very much you can't see the forest for the trees sort of situation.

If sega had as many dollars as they do almosts... Oh wait, they probably do.

There are genres that aren't for me, then there are genres I just think are bad, and touge racers go under that last category.

Obviously my desires completely contingent upon the capabilities of the machine. But in general, I just wish they'd make another flip.

I, on the other hand am perfectly happy with the word steal. The only people I hear argue with stuff like that are pro AI people, and their opinions matter so very little to me.

I will buy this just for the design ingenuity. If it's priced reasonably I'll buy it day one. Auto runner has become such a dirty term, and rightfully so, but cannabalt is a genuinely great game.

@Daggot There's definitely a market for non-franchise sports games, but these games were pretty terrible. At least the basketball ones were.

He's neither that much of a visionary, or someone to be hated so much. He tried to make games that were too complex for the time period. They weren't really that clever, they were just sort of sprawling, he's just a guy who tried to make giant simulation games, and just sort of failed all the time, so now everyone thinks he's a disappointment, or some crazy genius, but he's really just this dude.

@PinballBuzzbro No, it's a really good idea, theoretically, it just won't work. Imagine if someone could pick up the time splitters IP for a few hundred thousand dollars, just as an example.

@Daniel36 Haha, nah, at one point I was going to start a YouTube channel, because I'd be very good at it, but it's not really the career path I want. I even had tens of hours of gameplay footage at one point that I deleted.

Either that or I'm too cowardly. Now I just make lists for my own enjoyment. Id rather design games than talk about them. Though I do both...
