We're really getting more out of the Megasis now than we did when it was a relevant on sale system. The hardware itself shares so much DNA with 90s arcade boards it's even almost 1 to 1 with some Taito arcade boards.
@PowerPandaMods As a creator myself I've been writing the same first chapter for 5 years.
But yeah the main reason I have an Everdrive isn't piracy it's to play romhacks and the Blue Duo, Sonic and Mega Man always seem to get the most creative rom hacks.
@Axelay71 Earthion is some real voodoo. Then again the X68K CPU was in a lot of things and a lot more people know how to tap into it now than back then the Megasis isn't too far off from the Neo Geo CPS1 and some Taito boards.
@Axelay71 What I really love about most Modern Megasis games is how much they're squeezing out of the hardware that they just didn't back in the day. If we got some of the stuff coming out now in the early 90s it'd be Nintendo that went 3rd party in 2001.
ZPF is a prime example of squeezing the most out of the Megasis.
@gojiguy What are you on? ZPF is Amazing. Ok ok it's you so you have some Shmup Cred. But what's your issuq with ZPF? I really enjoyed it and actually think it's better than Earthion. I haven't gotten super far in it granted but I like how it sections things off. I've been pretty bummed that it hasn't been available for purchase anywhere other that low print run.
I had to sail the Seven Seas just to beable to play it and I want those devs to get paid. They squeezed a lot of power out of the Megasis as a lot of INDIE DEVS seem to be doing lately so I'll be buying it on Steam and my consoles of choice when the time comes.
Probably better off with some arcade archives or the Milestones releases on Switch and a good arcade stick...
You'd def get a few newer Taito classics that way.
Not cool with them hosting FX Unit Yuki a game you can still buy. But as far as fantranslations and quick access to stuff for ODEs this site is a godsend.

Re: Bad Dudes Is Getting A Fan-Made Sega Genesis Port

@gojiguy Even the best shmups can be like that if you don't get in that zone. But we'll see when I get around to it.

Re: R-Type Delta HD Boosted May Not Be The Definitive Way To Play This PS1 Gem, After All
These titles are very hit or miss. They either have this issue, or horrid input lag.
But then you have Batsugun which was a great conversion or whatever it was they were doing.
