While Neo Geo had some excellent games (that I only got to play later, initially through Saturn and Dreamcast ports), as a piece of hardware there seems little benefit here over playing the games on say, the original PSP (at least those that are available).
Shame I can’t download Garou: Mark of the Wolves on PSN, one of my favourite fighters ever, at least I have it on Dreamcast.
@XyVoX Am sure you're not alone there, funny to think the 3DS VC is the first time Nintendo have actually released NES games running at the correct speed in Europe.
Lets see if they can sort out the Wii VC with Wii U...
Yep, the PC Engine never made it to the UK to my knowledge, though I remember reading about it in gaming magazines at the time.
Was really pleased to see the console on the VC and discovered some great games.
It is also the only system on the VC that always runs at 60Hz on a PAL Wii!
Now, if only they would release Parasol Stars on the Wii VC...
Wow, takes me back... I only had one early issue of TOTAL!, when they previewed the SNES. Good mag, but I was a SEGA fan at the time and only owned the Gameboy Nintendo-wise, so it was SEGA Force / Power for me. Used to flick through my friends copies though, wishing I could own both 16-bit consoles I suppose! Games mags were great back then, now I only buy 'Retro Gamer'...
I never got this as never had a SNES, went from the legendary Zzap! to SEGA Force. Years went by before I bought another games magazine, until the excellent Retro Gamer came along (and even occasionally put Oliver Frey's art back on the cover). Nice article!
