Re: The Gritty RoboCop-Esque Shooter 'Annihilator' Is Out Now For Game Boy Color

@LP09 Thank you! I forgot about Evercade. I'm going to reach out to them.

I didn't want to be mean. We are all just strangers on the internet. Commenting is cheap. But also, in 3 weeks the cover art can be changed. It'll probably be changed again, if I ever do regional carts. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. My focus is on the game itself.

With that said, I'm having some sketches made for an updated cover. I'm going too see what the physical buyers think. They decide what the box set look like for this round.

I may try selling posters or something to raise money for localization. 1 step at a time.

@PinballBuzzbro Hi! I thought I'd respond to you since it seemed like you were on the fence, and you made this comment, "If the devs are too lazy to pay an actual artist, then I'm too lazy to give them my money."

I think this is a good place to talk about things. Anyone else coming through can learn more about me and why I made the decisions I made.

So it's just me, one dev. I am a professional pixel artist and animator. Painting is not my strength but I'm getting better. Annihilator was a 2-3 year project, I've been working on/off. It first started out as a game called CRUSH.

To be honest, I'm pretty much broke and live in a bus. So this started as a passion thing. I actually lost a job in Dec., working on getting it completed before Jan. 20. I'm worried about possible tariffs.

I made everything in the game: programming, art, cutscenes, animations, music, story, etc. The cover art is shopped ai. It was always meant to be temporary, and I never hid that from the pre-order buyers back in Oct, 23. The game just didn't raise enough money. They seem to be okay with it. Cover art is also the easiest thing to replace, and I'm hoping digital sales will pick up - so I can do more.

Hard truth is I'm going to lose on this game. I priced the boxed games way too low, trying to make the expense low for my customers. All the money that came in will go toward the manufacturing and assembly of the games + shipping.

I don't think I'm lazy, and of course you're entitled to your opinion. If an ai cover, is a hard line for you. I respect that.

But I do want to leave the invitation open to support the game. I have reached out to a few painters. If you want to see the cover art changed, this is one way to help do that.

With all respect.
