Growing up where I did the Nintendo was never as popular as Commodore, spectrum or Atari, even Amstrad were cool and the whole array of MSX. The only Nintendo device I had was a Gameboy which was only ever used as a Tetris portable because all the games were shockingly bad. But my wife would counter as she holds the NES and SNES in very high regard. The Last Ninja, system 3 on C64, is about the best game I played in my formative years and it's cast to history now as Nintendo regurgitate the same games over and over and over again to the point that that's all some remember. We disrespect franchises for more of the same, but applaud Nintendo for never changing.
