As I am probably the target audience for this: my first gaming was on the Intellivision and Intellivision 2, I have multiple local game-ready family members (re: kids), and can afford the console ... but as interested as I am in the Amico I worry that it doesn't present much value. Yet. It has interesting ideas, but will rise or fall based upon the games and experiences that come to it. Right now, I don't see a killer app. And if I did, I'd still have to justify the $250 for that app. And that is a tough get when there are so many competing consoles out there that are much more cost effective for their time.
I have my original Eidos Man City kit (from 2001, as I recall) stashed in my closet. It wasn't til it was mentioned in this article today that I actually recognized Eidos as a video game developer! Clearly my City fandom outweighed my video game love : )
Wow, I grew up playing an Intellivision with my aunts and uncles back in the early 80's and had endless hours of fun at Tron and Shark! Shark!. Maybe we'll get remakes : )
