I've been looking to pick this up for a little while, after giving it a quick blast on an emu. It's a pretty fun game. Shame its so expensive on the secondary market (and that's likely to go up the more people hear about it).
I think this is more down to Konami than anything. They've neglected the series for years (even compared to the neglect it shows its other long-running series these days).
I don't remember the 93 European GP first hand, but Donington has an F1 museum (well worth going to if you like F1) and there's a whole section dedicated to it and Senna. I think they even have the trophy. Which is why I was surprised to see the Sonic one, because that is very much not the one they have and there's (AFAIR) nothing about Sega particularly.
Also of note that Damon Hill did a couple of ads for Sonic Chaos that year. Little more than a couple of silent clips though.
Crowd-funding this seems a bit piss-taking. It's hardly a novel concept, setting up a barcade. Takes some stones asking people to fund setting up a pub for you and your mates.
I didn't realise until recently that the full tagline was "if it's in the game, it's in the game" and so "it's in the game" always seemed a bit confusingly banal. Like, ok, sure, that's a thing you can say. Distinctively voiced, admittedly.
Slightly confusing to switch between Japanese and American numbering for the titles in this. I think we're all ok using the Japanese numbers for the SNES titles now.
I'd add Treasure of the Rudras. Tough to do so because it's only had an English version through fan translation, but its story is excellent, with an interesting gimmick of being in three separate yet overlapping strands that you can switch between when you like and a really innovative magic system built around words/syllables.
I almost entirely play retro games legitimately: original hardware and legit copies of games.
That said, emulation is handy for a "try before you buy" service. Given the price some retro games have, it would be foolish to go out and buy them without knowing that you actually like it by having it played it a bit beforehand.
My older brother got Club Nintendo for a while, up until it was ditched for Nintendo Magazine System, I think. I'm still not entirely sure how/why, as I'm fairly sure he was getting it even before we got a Game Boy. He had that 1990 issue though and for years I'd go back to flick through it, even though it was mostly just partial guides to games I didn't have. It was a beautiful thing. I especially liked the final page illustration of Mario and co falling asleep in the office.

Re: The Toxic Crusaders Are Back In An All-New Beat 'Em Up Adventure
The pixel art certainly looks the part, but it needs to play as well as Shredder's Revenge does to really justify itself.

That's not what "prequel" means.

I've no interest in buying these, but those light up cart toppers are cool.

Eh, Final Fantasy VI day was better.
