Re: Playdate's Getting A Vampire Survivors-Inspired Game From The Makers Of FTL And Into The Breach

@Vectrex as someone who owns the actual panic playdate, I can tell you some of that assessment is wrong. I actually find that the device is quite durable, in fact, so much so I put it into my back pocket. Obviously I have a cover for it so it doesn't actually scratch the display but it is a durable device as far as everyday use. The system is designed for developers and people who like small indie titles. It's not for everybody so if it's not for you it's not for you. I understand if the price is pretty high, especially now with everything that's going on. But everybody who I've let play my playdate have fallen in love with it and have bought one. And considering the fact that those indie games for season 2 are going to be about $3 to $6 in general. That's a pretty good deal considering how much games cost nowadays and to get that many games for that price of good quality, including stuff like Shadowgate PD. I understand that that price is a tough sale and if you live outside the United States, it's probably going to be even more expensive. So I know a tough pill to swallow but the system is by far not a cheap or delicate handheld the crank is sturdy it doesn't sway it's not loose and I have put some cranking in on some games, and the buttons are clicky great standby time and pretty solid battery for play time and amazing audio on some of those games and games most are no bigger than a nes game when it comes to rom size. But it is a device that is not built with everyone in mind, it's a niche device.
