I think if we’re two generations removed (PS2/Xbox) or completely dead hardware (Dreamcast) , emulation is acceptable. The original developer, publisher or related companies are no longer generating revenue from those generations. The secondary market is hurt, but pricing an Atari or NES game for hundreds or thousands, even understanding the rarity and collectible aspect of it all is not something i care to support.
