@UK_Kev Despite the claim that there was one true route that could be won on minimum stats, most books did require high stat to give you a chance. Some were so unfair you basically had to cheat.
Even if it was genuine it looks like you can get an original for around $200. I don't understand why you'd pay $3800 extra for some shrinkwrap (that makes the game unplayable).
Generations only really make sense for individual manufacturers, e.g. NES - SNES - N64. But even then it's pretty grey - does the famicom disk drive count as a new gen? Then you have handhelds / home consoles / other types of game devices.
Trying to group different technologies that weren't even necessarily competing is never going to lead to a satisfactory result.
This kind of crowdfunding is such a bad idea. If something has a working prototype and needs funding for a full manufacturing run then fine. But funding something that amounts to just an idea is simply unsafe.
People already have a huge array of genuine retro gaming to choose from, both in original hardware and virtual console style services. Why would you pay current-gen prices for something that pretends to be retro?

Re: Game & Watch Tetris Prototype Appears To Have Been Discovered
Oh wow, that looks like it would have been one of the best G&W games
Re: Miyamoto Jokes In 1986 Interview That He Was "Disliked" By Nintendo's Programmers
So basically admitting he's a bad manager. Ho hum.
Re: Upset By Zelda Being $70? We've Arguably Never Had It So Good
I remember those crazy prices Nintendo charged in the 90s. My friends and I all had PCs or Amigas and thus much cheaper games.
Re: Best Sega Game Gear Games
I did not know there was a white Game Gear

Re: Intellivision Releases An Amico Unboxing, Showcases A Functioning System
A fake "unboxing" of an unfinished product. I don't get who this is aimed at.
Re: Ready To Ditch Those AA Batteries? Check Out The Amazing 'CleanJuice' Game Boy Mod
It's convenient perhaps, but I fail to see how a bespoke rechargeable unit is "cleaner" than rechargeable AAs.
Re: Panic's Cool Little Handheld, Playdate, Gets New Details On Pre-Orders And More
It looks a really interesting concept, but I can't see how they will sell many at $180.
Re: Poll: Did You Know That GoldenEye Had A Dual-Analogue Control Option On N64?
This is really only possible because of the three-pronged N64 controller. If the stick was on the left it wouldn't have been practical to hold.
(On the other hand Sony solved the whole thing by making a twin stick controller.)
Re: Introducing The Playdate, Panic's New Handheld Video Game System With A Crank
It actually looks really intriguing, but I'm not sure I want to spend £120 on 12 very basic looking mini games.
They really missed a trick if the crank doesn't recharge the battery.

Re: Flash Carts Could Be Slowly Killing Your Retro Consoles
@Damo dumping a ROM from your own cart is still illegal in the UK. Morally justifiable perhaps but technically illegal.
