@AJB83 completely agree with you. these guys have a legit history in the rom hacking scene and have proven many times over they are capable of awesome stuff.
@bobathefett a lack of understanding on how to accomplish something doesn’t mean someone smarter than you hasn’t figured it out…
@UK_Kev important distinction…they could let us all down by announcing a remaster or mobile game or some such thing. the internet would riot but still, hose words had been chosen carefully.
your guess is interesting and would explain the choice of words!
really appreciate the coverage on rom hacking. i think a future article on the different rom hacking websites/communities would be a great idea. there’s a lot more out there than just rhdn, just this week i discovered two new (to me) sites dedicated just to hacks for new super mario bros ds.
pretty cool stuff! he also added unlimited continues with this patch which is pretty awesome for someone like me that would never finish the game otherwise 😂🤣
@belmont for sure the pi zero is a gem! i’m thinking/hoping the rpi5 will be able to handle saturn, dreamcast no problem and probably even some ps2 and gamecube once all the software is updated 🤞
@belmont you don’t need a heatsink for all use cases but do get one if cpu is under constant heavy load, any old usb 5v charger should work unless you connect power hungry devices (e.g. ssd drive) and for cases, well…i built all my previous cases out of lego! diy ftw!
very excited about this. can’t wait for some folks to get their hands on these and show what they’re capable of. been working on an emulation project for a while, was thinking of an oDroid as my sbc but now i need to reconsider 😂
always get excited for c64 games to see what devs have done with sid sound chip. this game has yet to tackle that aspect of c64 it seems. looks cool nonetheless!
dude gets 700$ cash + oled totk special edition switch console for, at most 1200$ worth of trade-ins. looks pretty fair…twitter being twitter isn’t really newsworthy imo.
fantastic article! working on an emulation project recently, i was pretty surprised to see that of the 116 titles, only 51 have been fully recovered so far. what makes it especially difficult is many of these games happened over unique broadcasts that only occurred once, in a specific weekly time slot…and a lot of them were 4+ broadcasts!
pretty interesting concept and cool engineering with it all packed on a cart. whoa! just watched the vid..the game supports online updates with this wifi chip and it’s open source. also, gameplay looks really fun! +1 backer
Game looks decent but my take is that in order to be called “spiritual successor” to Fable you must have that British charm and humour that Fable nailed… and I don’t see that here.
