Remember getting this as a birthday gift or something, too. Loved the box art, but looking back I think that yellow was a very bold choice.
Used to love the remix of the underground sections, and used to let the boss fights go for so long without killing them because the music was going sooo hard : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Tj3-bmDnS8
I only use NSO because I don't have time for much else and besides it's always a hassle to play retro games on my Mac. Handheld mode for handheld games, docked mode for all the others.

I remember the acid techno of Extreme G trying to resemble the WipeOut soundtrack. I love the N64's attempts at recreating edgy music back then with MIDI samples (electronic, hip hop etc). It made them all sound quite the same and is definitely a staple of gaming from that era as much as the low-poly visuals.
I had no idea you could manually input codes in GoldenEye. I thought you could only unlock cheats by completing the levels under a certain time in a certain difficulty mode.
As I say everytime I read about something like this, imagine a musician sampling a song from another artist without the latter being retributed in any way. The movies and video games industries are such a hellhole for creators.
Wait until LRG issues a statement about game preservation. It's not only about being able to play old games, it's also about celebrating the people who created them.
I'm glad to say I owned none of them — although I rented Rise of The Robots. It was fun for a while but I didn't feel that frustrated to have to give it back.
@Azuris Yes! The whole levels in the manor feel very RE. Then maybe the maze with the mad chainsaw gardener and the two hounds from hell later inspired Capcom for RE4?
It looks like an updated version of Castlevania 64, with better frame rate and textures.
Love those leaks. Hopefully there will be more. Kinda resonates with the article about the need of preservation here on NL whether the games were actually released or not.

Re: Nasir Gebelli, The Elusive Programming Genius Behind Final Fantasy, Thinks Coding The Games Was "Simple"
@GravyThief Came to say just this. About 30 years after playing Secret of Mana, part of the mystery behind this 'Nasir' character is finally lifted.

Can Samus spider-ball her way up its necks?

Re: Feature: 25 Years Ago, Nintendo Took On The Might Of Street Fighter With Killer Instinct
Great game, great article. Got the game for my birthday back then. 25 years ago you say ?? Oh well...
The only ultra combos I could pull off were Orchid’s (go cartwheels!) and Cinder’s.
