If the game is available on modern platforms, or if I already own the platform I want the game for, then sure, I'll buy it.
But I think the problem are games you just can't easily buy original anymore. The game is not on steam, or any other services or modern consoles. So the only way to play it original would be to buy an old console and the cartridge/disk for an insane amount that would be almost the cost of a modern console.
