@AnonUser - While you’re not wrong about PC’s emulating games, playing on original hardware with the original controllers is just a better experience from a nostalgia standpoint. Outside of PS5/Switch 2 games, I’m done collecting anything vintage at this point, nothing brings me nostalgia when I browse the game stores.
@Serpenterror - That was my first thought, he either knows the perpetrator or it was a repair person or anyone who was in his home for whatever reason. I have a collection as well, fortunately I have a collectors insurance plan covering it and I have a camera in that room.
Reading stuff like this makes me want to sell it off so I don’t have to worry about it. That and I’m in my mid 40’s and I’m thinking about how I don’t want to deal with hauling it around for the next 30-50 years of my life.
@John_Deacon - No, emulation is the act of mimicking how console hardware works on other platforms. A N64 emulator on the PC emulates how the N64 hardware works using software. The Everdrive and its clones are just running software that allows you to load games off a micro SD and the N64 hardware is executing the game software.
