As someone who was an artist designer on computer games in he 80s on amstrad, c64 , ST and Amiga and then later went to the USA I can tell you that most Americans do not even think about the rest of the world. It doesn't exist to them. They are 4 percent of the world's population but I've heard many of them that's they make up more than half of the population of the planet. Not surprised that this is the viewpoint they have of European/Asian gaming
