@RetroGames The child inside of me never stopped fighting the 16-bit war against Nintendo.
The main reason the site focuses on Genesis / Mega Drive is (a) at the moment, there are a lot more new releases for it over any other retro console, so it's harder to keep track of what's coming out, and (b) I'm actively collecting games for the console, so I'm already paying attention to what's coming out.
If I get to a point where I feel like I'd have the extra mental bandwidth to keep up with other modern retro releases, I could potentially add in other platforms as well. For now, though, I don't want to get too ambitious with it and find myself unable to keep it up to date.
Hi all! I'm the person behind the side. I know some of this has been clarified in the comments already, but just to confirm a couple of things.
As of now, I am indeed only focusing on physical releases, in part because those can be easy to miss out on if you don't know they're happening. That was part of the inspiration behind the site. That might change in the future, however.
Also, the site was born from my previous plan of putting together a simpler list of 2024 Genesis / Mega Drive releases that I was going to post on my personal site. I then decided that, instead, I'd build a more powerful option for browsing the games. I wanted to get it up quickly to give more immediate access to tracking the games that were upcoming, but I will absolutely be going back to add in as many previous releases as possible. It's just more a case that I already had the information for all of this stuff on-hand, where as I'll need to make sure I get all of the right details for prior titles that I wasn't already directly tracking.
Hope that clarifies those points. Thanks for checking out the site!
@Hexapus I did actually explain that in the YouTube video's description. I worked at GameFan, that had received the tape from Data East when the trial was happening, I took the tape home at some point, it ended up in my video collection, and then I misplaced where it was until recently.
