@mashk I'm always amazed at how many people remember the 3-4 minutes it took to load a 48k game as "an eternity". It takes as long as that to update a game on most consoles these days every time it's required.

I've never paid $70 for a game, either in 1994 or since, and I very much doubt I ever will. My limit is about $50, and if that means waiting a few years after release or never playing it at all, so be it.

@Stocksy I suppose so, but with most people double-jabbed these days there should be a lot fewer people needing to show a test result to get into this sort of thing. Even if I did need a test, I'd still prefer to know a week or two in advance just because I'm old and I need to plan things properly

@martynstuff Nah, he knows way too much about actual games. Patrick Moore was brilliant because he was clearly just reading out stuff that he didn't understand in the slightest.

@HamatoYoshi It wasn't really, though. There were other (arguably better) games shows on TV at the time too, like Bad Influence! on ITV.

Even as a games-mad teenager at the time I found Gamesmaster unwatchably bad. What did everyone else see in it?
