I know that's a joke, but the show was refreshingly light on "and knowing is half the battle" moments. Closest I can think of off the top of my head was at the start of the infamous "THIS IS DELICIOUS!" episode, Guile rescues a runaway teen, and before he leaves, he tells the boy, "Call your folks."
Calling Buster Busts Loose "butchered" is a bit much, though I do agree that these so-called "easy modes" that only give you part of the game are lame. Glad that practice largely seems to have fallen by the wayside after the 16-bit era.
His response reminds me of when Don Mattrick said to Xbox One gamers who wanted to play 360 games on the new console: "It's called the Xbox 360". It comes off as dismissive.
He wants to produce future games, which I'm more than fine with, but why does it have to be one or the other? Why not both?
I had nothing better to do last night so I watched the whole thing. What a fascinating time capsule. The show was VERY rough though- besides missed cues and botched teleprompter reading, most of the award winners didn't even have a chyron saying who they were, just the company they represented. And there were some glaring errors, like using the SNES footage of Aladdin for the Best Portable Game category.

Re: Random: Sega's Winter Heat Hides A Chilling Prediction About The End Of The World
Between this and the California Speed N64 billboard, it's pretty obvious game designers have a warped sense of humor.

Re: Flashback: One Of Gaming's Worst Pads Almost Led To A Controller That Promised To Change Gaming Forever
I'll admit: I fell for this ad back in the '90s. Controller didn't improve my gaming, even for fighting games- in fact I did worse with it.
